Capillary Exchange : Bulk Flow (Filtration and Reabsorption)

Have you ever wondered how nutrients and oxygen makes it to the cells and tissues? What forces drive the flow of substances into and out of the capillaries? Or maybe you're really just struggling with the concepts of bulk flow and different pressures such as Capillary Hydrostatic Pressure, Blood Colloid Osmotic Pressure, Interstitial Fluid Hydrostatic Pressure, and Interstitial Fluid Osmotic Pressure. Then, you've come to the right video! In this video, I will break down what happens in capillary exchange (exchange between the blood and interstitial fluid) and the different pressures that allow the exchange to happen. I will describe each pressure and how it changes as blood flows through the capillary bed. By the end of the video you will understand how capillary exchange, specifically, how bulk flow occurs. And, you'll also learn about different pressures, that may have been overwhelming to learn, but now you finally understand them! ****** Want to learn more about the circulatory system?
