Yes, yes, yes, yes, I know I was supposed to be working on my Scott video. But! But! I heard this song and the thought "this is totally Malia" popped into my head, which NEVER HAPPENS to me. So I had to make this. I am a Malia fan after this season (still not a Stalia fan though, sorry, though they're not my NOTP anymore...I guess I'm sort of neutral about them?) Her development was AMAZING, and I think Shelley finally hit her stride with the character. It helped that they stopped over-sexualizing her as much (she was a coyote for eight years, no way is her grasp of clothing and makeup better than the majority of teenage girls). I feel like by making her appearance and personality simpler and less over exaggerated they really allowed for a more nuanced portrayal of the character, and Shelley got to show her skills instead of having to be completely "out there" all the time. This video ends on a bit of a sad, uncertain note, because that's where Malia's storyline is at the end of 5A. Uncertain. I didn't get to fit in a lot of things I wanted to, but I basically wanted to show how she's become more of her own person, moving past her simplistic animal instincts. I had wanted to show more of how she was also moving past people having to tell her what to do and coddling her but it didn't fit in as well, so I had to leave it out.
