Police Ambush - Understanding the PEACE model of interviewing suspects
The PEACE model of interviewing suspects is now the go to strategy to interviewing suspects in England and Wales and in many other countries too. This post is based on in three decades of professional experience of advising clients. It explore the use of what I have called the “police ambush” which is where previously undisclosed evidence is disclosed once a suspect has given an account. Strategies are also explained how to deal with this form of interviewing where there may be evidence held back. I hope you find it interesting and insightful.
