Schedule 1-A & the $6,000 Enhanced Deduction for Seniors
The Schedule 1-A was added for the 2025 tax year to report several new deductions available under the One Big Beautiful Bill. Those deductions include no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, car loan interest deduction, and an enhanced deduction for seniors. This deduction covers the enhanced deduction for seniors available in Part V of the Schedule 1-A. The deduction is generally $6,000 per person age 65 or older.
