Review: Naxos' Malcolm Arnold Symphonies Are Back In A Box!
...and this time around, Naxos has added Andrew Penny's equally fine performance of the complete English, Scottish, Irish and Welsh dances. Released on the occasion of the centenary of Arnold's birth in 1921, this superb set of the nine symphonies was recorded in the composer's presence. It's just great, but then, so is the music, and it's about time that it receives the recognition that it deserves. Get it while you can. Musical Examples courtesy of Naxos Records
