Maypole Tradition in Bergneustadt 2026: On the eve of May 1st, the Bergneustadt SPD erected its traditional maypole in the town hall square. A 12.43-meter-long birch tree from the forest above Immicke was decorated by citizens, city councilors, and representatives of local associations, and then transported to the square by Detlef Kämmerer (Deputy Mayor) using a historic Güldner G 40 tractor.
