23-year-old Lieutenant Rishi Ranjan's final farewell | Rishi Ranjan was the only son of his family | Indian Army Martyr Lieutenant Rishi Kumar Ranjan, Martyr, Indian Army Lieutenant Rishi Kumar of Begusarai was martyred in a blast in Jammu and Kashmir late Saturday evening. A pall of gloom descended upon Begusarai upon receiving news of the incident. Martyr Rishi Kumar was the son of Rajiv Ranjan, a resident of Professor Colony in the Begusarai district headquarters. He had joined the Army just a year earlier. He was martyred during an IED blast in Rajouri Nowshera, Sundarbans Sector, on October 30th. Martyr Rishi Kumar was originally a resident of Piparia in Lakhisarai, but had been living in a house on Pipra Road near GD College for several decades. His grandfather worked at a refinery, which is why the family settled here. Upon receiving the news of the death, the family was devastated. The martyr's father, Rajiv Ranjan, said he received a telephone call at around 7:30 pm informing him that his son had been martyred. He said he had spoken to his mother just four days earlier and told her he was taking leave to attend his sister's wedding.
