Evangelicals Think They Know What Mormons Believe. They Don't Even Know What They Believe.

Evangelicals jumped into my live completely convinced they knew exactly what Latter-day Saints believe. They had their talking points ready. Their critiques loaded. But the moment I turned the questions back on them and asked them to explain their own theology it fell apart fast. They couldn't define the Trinity. They couldn't justify their beliefs from scripture. They couldn't explain where their doctrines came from. This is what happens when someone is handed a religion instead of taught one. This isn't about mocking anyone. It's about the difference between indoctrination and genuine faith and why every believer deserves to actually understand what they believe and why.
