3 Levels of Flute Compared Professional vs Beginner and Intermediate Let me know if you can hear the difference between my professional model solid silver Haynes, an intermediate and beginner flute. I’m Dr. Angela McBrearty of DoctorFlute.com. In this video I will compare three flutes: 1) Professional - Haynes: solid silver, tuned to A444, gold riser, B foot 2) Intermediate - Powell Sonaré: SF – 705, solid silver, white gold springs, Signature headjoint, B foot 3) Beginner - Trevor James: silver plated nickel, open holes with plugs, C foot I will compare these flutes by playing some of Syrinx, Mozart Concerto in G, all 3 registers, and do some low register tonguing. I will also describe the finger action and how each flute feels in my hands. You’ll find out which flute sounds tinnier, sounds bigger, and is more resonant and alive.
