Interview with Chris Read of Shelter Point Distillery

In this video I`m having a great conversation with Chris Read of Shelter Point Distillery. The Canadian whisky distillery lies on the east coast of Vancouver Island which itself is located on the west coast of Canada on the pacific ocean. Shelter Point Distillery focuses on scottish style single malt whisky, although they also produce rye and grain whisky. In this whisky talk I taste a range of their whiskies and talk with Chris Read about the challanges of a small craft single malt producer in Canada. Canadian whisky has been associated with rye whisky for a long time but Canada is setting out to establish itself not only with its gread new world rye whiskies (see videos with Sons of Vancouver and Cirka Distillery to come) but also in the single malt whisky category. We talk about different ways of making whisky and Shelter Points unique methods to create fascinating single malts. This video is not a sponsored or payed video. The video however does contain unpaid advertisement due to the mentioning of brands and products and I did not pay for the tour or the tasting experience.
