This one is dhaba style or like the one that is one of the recipe in marriage menu. In this recipe the gravy will be nice and homogenous. I will tell you a trick for that. Ingredients: • 1 cup Chole • 1 tbsp Chana dal • 1~2 Bay leaves • Water • Oil • 1 tsp Cumin seeds • Finely chopped Onion • Finely chopped Tomato • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste • 1 tsp Garam masala • 1 tsp Coriander powder • Red chili powder • Water • Salt to taste Method: • Take chole in a bowl and add chana dal. • Wash both really good and soak in enough water overnight. • Transfer the soaked chole and chana dal into a cooker and add bay leaves, water. • Close the lid and cook on medium heat until 7-8 whistles. • Heat up oil in a pan. • Add cumin seeds and let them splatter. • Add onion and fry until it turns nice golden. • When onion begins to get nice golden color add tomato, ginger-garlic paste and mix well. • Fry for another 3-4 minutes until tomato cooks nice and soft. • Add garam masala, coriander powder, red chili powder and mix well. • Fry everything well for about 2-3 minutes. • Add cooked chole, water to adjust the consistency, salt and mix well. • Simmer on medium heat for about 8-10 minutes. • Chole masala is all ready. • You can have this with puri, bhature, parathe.
