KAO Plastic Surgery Arm Lift Without The Huge Scars - Circumaxillary Brachioplasty - Arm Tightening

Circumaxillary Brachioplasty With Internal Brace: This is a new plastic surgery concept in Brachioplasty (arm lift) that I have been thinking of doing for the past 2 years and was finally able to execute it on the perfect candidate! This 60-year-old patient already had a "short scar" brachioplasty done by another Plastic Surgeon. She was disappointed with the results, as she saw no improvement of her arm laxity. We used the same existing scar along the axillary fold to achieve a tremendous lift and tightening of the upper arm without a long scar down to the elbow. Traditional brachioplasty requires a long incision extending from the axilla down to the elbow. While this is very effective in removing droopy skin and reducing the circumference of the arm, unfortunately the scar is highly visible. The patient is usually too embarrassed to wear anything short sleeved… Thus defeating the very reason the patient opted to have this surgery to begin with. A "short scar" arm lift utilizes a short incision contained within the axillary crease. While the scars are all concealed, the result is very limited in the amount of tightening and lifting of the arm. The patients are usually disappointed with the result. As you can tell from the video, this patient is VERY happy with the results of her operation. She is only 2 months post-op and already feels more confident! The Circumxillary Brachioplasty utilizes the same principle as my Alexandra Breast Lift. The skin is lifted out of the way via a short scar and the underlying tissue is folded, plicated and tightened along the entire length of the upper arm from the axilla to the elbow. Then an "internal brace" (like the internal bra for the Alexandra Breast Lift) is installed to "lock in" the new SMALLER circumference of the arm. The final skin taken out is in a circular pattern confined to the diameter of the axilla. This is closed with multiple purse-string sutures along the axillary crease. The final length of the scar is much shorter than the original diameter of the circular wound.
