Khonoma Village 🇮🇳 | Head Hunters History, Honesty Shops & Nagaland's Green Village | Day 56

Day 56 of my 10,000+ KM Solo Motorcycle Expedition. Today's journey took me from Kohima to the historic Khonoma Village, one of Nagaland's most fascinating destinations. Known as India's first Green Village, Khonoma is home to the brave Angami Naga community and has a rich history connected to the legendary Naga warriors. During my visit, I explored the village's unique culture and learned about the head-hunting era, where traditional weapons, shields, spears, and old firearms are preserved as part of history. I also visited the famous Honesty Shops, where there are no shopkeepers—you simply take what you need and leave the money yourself, showcasing the incredible trust and honesty of the local people. The beautiful terraced rice fields, traditional Naga houses, ancient village gates, and the historic sites related to the Battle of Khonoma (1879–80) made this one of the most memorable cultural experiences of my entire journey.
