The infantilisation of #SidVicious is absolutely fucking ridiculous. You do not have good morals if you celebrate her death and blame her for Sid's. Sid's death and downfall were the result of his mother's abuse and neglect. I never felt I could do anything to settle the sadness. It has followed me around for so many years. I got a tattoo dedicated to her, but it still didn't feel enough of a tribute. I realised I could do more, and this was what I came up with. I enjoyed making it and feel, in some way, like there is that connection there in terms of making my peace with the subject and doing some kind of service to her legacy - or at least, taught some people about the real #NancySpungen - the Nancy they, unfairly, made their villain.
