【離島の高校】都会では絶対に味わえない、大島高校の日常が映画の世界すぎる

This is a glimpse into daily life at Oshima High School on Amami Oshima. No matter where you look, it’s simply beautiful. The students’ expressions are bright and sincere, just that alone naturally draws your attention, but above all, the structure of the school building left a lasting impression. The space is open from the first to the fourth floor, and the sight of teachers heading to class, students chatting, and even those who pause to gaze outside all come rushing into view as a single, sweeping panorama. It’s all just everyday life, yet I can’t quite put into words why it leaves such a lasting impression. I’ve photographed over 50 different schools so far, but the daily life at this school is the only one that has stayed stuck in my mind. Before I knew it, as I filmed, I found myself drawn to the very atmosphere and scenery itself. It might sound a bit dramatic, but it feels almost like I’ve fallen in love with it.
