samsung WW80TA046TH - synthetic 40

here is the synthetic 40° cycle in the samsung series 5. the cycle starts with a fairly gentle saturation period, then continues into quite an intensive main wash. the interms are 1200rpm instant deceleration but they hold at 800rpm and 1000rpm first. compared to cotton's 800rpm instant deceleration, this is great. however, the second interm limited to 1000rpm for some reason. this only happened once while using this cycle. the rinses are very deep, which is a massive contrast to cotton which is more water efficient. this level does not change with a smaller load either, so can be rather wasteful especially considering it's on a cycle designed for only half a load. the final spin holds 1200rpm for ~3¾ minutes and holds 1400rpm for only 15 seconds. this is absolutely pointless and the cycle may as well have just been 1200rpm max. energy usage for this cycle was 0.717kWh. 00:00:00 - introduction, loading, adding detergent, selecting cycle 00:01:48 - start and initial drain 00:02:15 - sensing 00:02:51 - saturation 00:07:55 - main wash 01:42:22 - first intermediate spin 1200rpm 01:51:53 - very deep first rinse 01:57:12 - second intermediate spin 1200rpm (limited to 1000rpm) 02:06:22 - very deep softener rinse 02:14:07 - final spin 1400rpm 02:28:16 - anti-crease 02:29:14 - end, unloading and results
