Wallis-et-Futuna : ces jeunes qui résistent au départ pour sauver leur île - Documentaire complet
For many years, Wallis and Futuna has been losing its young people. Many leave for other countries, drawn by the promise of a better life. Subscribe to the Un Max de Patrimoine et Découvertes channel 👉 https://bit.ly/49wwHx5 Yet some have decided to reverse this trend and give their territory a second chance. Encouraged by their elders and trained in educational gardens, young women and men have chosen to build their future on the land. Long neglected and used only for subsistence crops such as cassava and yams, the land is now being rediscovered for market gardening – tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, and more. Demand is immense because here in Wallis and Futuna, everything is imported. Jordan, Mamalu, and Sefo understood this well, having decided to one day become self-employed. Three parallel destinies, three young people who will do everything to bring their projects to fruition. 00:00 A rich, still-pristine land 02:02 Sefo wants to keep the young people here 06:15 Wallis and Futuna is gradually emptying out 08:25 An isolated island at the edge of the Pacific 10:48 Yams, a pillar of tradition 12:45 Mamalu discovers market gardening 14:32 Jordan chooses to stay 17:42 Working the land for his future 20:45 Vegetables still too little known 23:20 The local market is packed 27:04 Can you make a living from market gardening in Wallis? 29:24 Training children to farm locally 33:27 Sefo follows in his father's footsteps 36:10 The chieftaincy faces the challenge of youth 43:48 Encouraging young people to stay 46:48 Welcome to real life 50:10 Their future will be here Title: SMALL COUNTRY, I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH A film by Mathieu MAILLET ©13 prods
