Sex After Pregnancy | Delivery Ke Kitne Din Baad Sambandh Banana Chahiye | Dr. Supriya Puranik

Today in this video Dr. Supriya Puranik, after how many days after delivery should we have intercourse? Or can we have intercourse and what precautions should be taken while doing it. When the delivery is done, the new mother is physically and mentally very disturbed. Because after delivery, the sleep gets disturbed at night, there is body ache, back pain. So due to all these reasons the mother is not ready to have intercourse. So that is why the new father should not have intercourse without the consent of the mother. Delivery Ke Kitne Din Baad Sambandh Banana Chahiye? When the mother has a normal delivery, a wound remains in the vaginal passage, i.e. stitches remain. For easy delivery of the child, the doctor has to make a hole which is called Episiotomy. When home delivery takes place, that is delivery takes place without doctor's assistance, then the lower part of mother's vagina gets torn, so that also remains a wound and when mother undergoes C-section, then a wound remains on the stomach, so stitches have to be given for that also. Generally, these stitches, that is, stitches of vagina and stomach take some time to heal. Sometimes this time is of 15 days and sometimes it takes even a month. Along with this, after delivery, discharge comes out from the vagina which we call Lochia and the colour of this lochia changes as time passes, so you do not have to be scared at all. For the first 5 days, the colour of that discharge remains red which is called Lochia Rubra, it generally contains blood clumps, baby's membranes are present, baby's wax which is called vernix is also present. -In 5 to 10 days this discharge becomes slightly yellow, it is called Lochia serosa, it also contains body secretions. -In 10 to 25 days this discharge becomes white, it is called Lochia Alba, it contains a lot of white cells. Sometimes this discharge continues for 3-4 weeks. This means that the healing of our uterus continues, the mouth of the uterus remains open and if we have physical relations at this time then there are more chances of infection. The size of the uterus increases during pregnancy, it decreases after delivery but it starts shrinking slowly. It becomes completely normal within 4-6 weeks. So that is why doctors advise that one should not have sex for 4-6 weeks after delivery. What precautions should be taken while having sex after delivery? (Sex after Delivery precautions ) After delivery, the mother starts breastfeeding. We have a belief that as long as we are feeding the baby, the mother cannot conceive or there is another belief that until the menstrual cycle starts, the mother cannot conceive. These are not wrong beliefs. When you are not able to breastfeed properly or there is lactation failure, then ovulation starts within 4 weeks after delivery, due to which the mother can conceive again. That is, if you are not able to breastfeed properly, then your periods start in 6 weeks. If the mother's lactation is going very well. The mother is breastfeeding more than 8 times a day. The duration and flow of the mother's feeding is good and there is no need to give additional food to the child, then it is called good lactation. In this, the mother remains safe for 6 months and the chances of conceiving are very low. - But if the mother is breastfeeding but the frequency of breastfeeding is less and the child has to be given additional food, then contraceptive method should be used only after 3 months. All this means that if you want to have sex after delivery, then you should consult your doctor and the doctor will advise you which contraceptive method you should use.
