FIRST WORLD WAR SOLDIER - FINAL RESTING PLACE FOUND
Private Ernest Topping served with the 21st Manchester Regiment and was killed at Croisilles, France on Monday, 2nd April 1917. He is one of the 526,816 British Soldiers with no known grave. 100 years later I retraced Ernest's steps from the Victoria Hotel in Platt Bridge near Wigan to the battlefields of Northern France.
