1960s Land Rover Series Reengineered - Our Most Elegant Build Yet
Meet our most elegant Series II yet — where craftsmanship meets precision. From the outside, it looks like a classic 1966 Land Rover Series II. Underneath, it’s a completely re-engineered machine, built for modern drivability, comfort, and serviceability. Every element — from the body alignment to the wiring harness — has been refined to perfection. At HIMALAYA, we say it often: we are defined in the details. And this build proves it. 🔹 Precision in Every Panel The body of this Series II was rebuilt from the ground up: Brand-new galvanized bulkhead to prevent corrosion. Every panel replaced and repainted — no filler, no shortcuts. Tight body lines and perfect fitment, something rarely seen in 1960s Land Rovers. Insulated doors for reduced vibration and a satisfying “pop” when shut. What was once a rough-cut utility truck now feels like a precision-built luxury vehicle — while keeping its authentic 1960s charm. 🔹 Modern Power Beneath the Heritage Under the hood lies a 6.2L GM LS3 engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This modern drivetrain sits on our custom coil-sprung chassis, featuring: Wider axles Disc brakes Power steering The result is effortless drivability — the power and reliability of a modern performance car, in the body of a vintage Land Rover. 🔹 Interior Craftsmanship Inside, the details continue: Ferrari-tan leather, hand-stitched in Charleston. Custom door cards for added comfort and insulation. Heritage Audio Package — hidden marine-grade speakers and subwoofer integrated seamlessly. Factory-inspired dashboard, reimagined with modern HVAC, heated seats, and lighting controls. Custom seating geometry for a natural driving position. Walnut and ash wood flooring for a timeless finishing touch. 🔹 Re-Engineering Over Restoration Every wire, fuse, and system has been redesigned for modern reliability. 36+ fuse custom harness with labeled wiring Fully documented schematics for easy serviceability Modern electrical backbone that preserves the look of the classic cabin This isn’t restoration — it’s re-engineering. A Series II that honors the past but drives like the future. 🔹About HIMALAYA At HIMALAYA, we hand-build custom Land Rovers from the ground up — balancing heritage with modern innovation.
