MARINA - Rocco Granata - Alto Sax RMX - Free score

Following a request from one of my subscribers, I decided to make my own version of "Marina", written by Rocco Granata in 1960. It was a huge hit at that time and it has been sung by great names like Louis Armstrong and Dean Martin. The story of Rocco is a story of success after a childhood of struggling. His family emigrated from Italy to Belgium when he was 10 years old and his father started working on a coal mine. Rocco dreamed about playing music and started writing songs including "Marina". At first, no music label was interested in the song, they thought nobody would like it and buy it. They were very wrong. Rocco printed 300 albums with all his savings and he started giving them away to clubs, cafe concertos and other live music establishments. After 2 months "Marina" was in the top hits worldwide and labels started to contact him. Too late. Rocco now had the mindset to go forward by himself and refused any offer.
