RC Sailboat Fin Keel Mod To Weedless Experiment

This video is an experimental modification of keel shape using a DragonforceDF65 sailboat. The objective is to alter the keel profile so the boat is less likely to snag weed on shallow lakes and ponds. The changes disqualify the boat for competitive racing but opens up many local, often weedy, locations for casual RC day sailing. The changes added weight and made the boat less efficient. Fortunately the original model was a superb design so this Weedless version, in spite of the mods, points high, runs well, and is fast. I'm looking forward to that warm spring day at the lake for a relaxing hour of two just playing on the water and not worrying too much about weed.
