RC Ball Bearing 101 & Maintenance.
Bearing, ballraces, ball bearings whatever you call them - They are not hugely exciting, but good bearing maintenance is essential to keep your RC running efficiently. This video has 3 sections: 1. What are bearings for? 2. Removal & Cleaning (starts at 4:17). 3. Lubrication (starts at 10:33). Please use the timestamp links to skip section 1. if you already know what bearings are. Summary: Protect your skin by using gloves or barrier cream. Carefully remove bearings from your RC and clean in a small container (TrakStar Bearing Shaker is good) with your preferred detergent cleaner. Then if running in clean environments lubricate with oil, but for dirty or wet use, lubricate with grease. I recommend marine grease as it keeps water and grit out and helps prevent your bearings going rusty.
