The Man I’m Trying To Be

The Man I’m Trying To Be The closing statement of the first Steel-Toe Heart chapter. It is about the gap between who a man has been and who he is still trying to become. The song does not ask for applause or pretend that growth erases the past. It simply names the daily work: owning mistakes, choosing better, staying honest, and trying to become someone his future can live with. It is humble, unfinished, and therefore believable.
