Rupamoni Gorh: The First Woman From Assam to Conquer Mount Everest 🇮🇳 From a small village in Assam to the highest peak in the world! 🌍🏔️ On May 21, 2026, 26-year-old Rupamoni Gorh scripted history by becoming the first woman from Assam to scale Mount Everest (8,848 meters). Serving as a constable in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Rupamoni reached the summit as part of the ITBP's historic first-ever all-women international Everest expedition.
