Another monstruous album from the Swedish masters of Roman Catholic Black Metal, "Malakt amalka Maryam" merks the 18th full-length from this horde. Released on All Souls' Day, this record is a delve into a more ritualistic, hypnotic and mid-paced Black Metal, with a lot of eerie, sinister synthesizers, pulsating basslines and an excellent lead work which often resembles with projects like Grav, Nacht und Gnosis or even some Venymysgourvleydh releases. Along with the other recent album, "Martyrium Matrimonii : Sacrificium Christi", these albums definitel delve into a more old school RiM sound, particularly that of the albums "Urkaus" and "De Mysteriis Dom Christi". There's also some moments on this album as well of eschatological and chaotic free improvisation, not too unlike projects such as Smegma, creating truly horrid, noisy atmospheres.
