Mysore Pak is a traditional South Indian Sweet which is prepared using gram flour and sugar in Ghee. The technique and ingredients gives an amazing buttery soft texture to this sweet. As the name suggests, this sweet dish was originated in Mysore in 1935. Krishnaraja Wodeyar, The Maharaja of Mysore, was a food enthusiast and loved to explore various cuisines. He therefore maintained a large kitchen in his palace for the same. It was the Chief Chef in this kitchen, Kakasura Madappa who invented Mysore Pak and served this to the King along with the Royal Thali. Though it was done in a hurry to satisfy the King who wished for a different taste, this has become one of the favourite sweets through years.
