Riffler v2 | Generative Midi + Randomizer + My Fav New Features

This is NOT an unbiased review of Riffler, because I love this music app and it’s one of my favourites. There are several good tutorials on how Riffler works, but I wanted to cover something different, so I’ll demonstrate how to use Riffler as a midi generator. Generative midi is very popular and there are a variety of tools for iOS that create random patterns, but Riffler creates melodic riffs and rhythm patterns consistent with the way guitar is played and the sounds you’d expect. In addition to the ‘how to..’ part, I’ll walk through some demo songs and also highlight my favourite Riffler features in the new version 2. This video is great for creative types creating EDM, hip hip and indie music who might not have considered a guitar app for midi generation and randomization. Riffler is disguised as a guitar riff app, when really it is a very flexible midi generator that captures the rules of music theory with it’s controls.
