6KG (13.2lb) GIANT Bass caught at Albert Falls Dam (HD)

Caught this fish against the run of play, mid day, 34 degrees (felt like 40). Only 3 fish the whole day, lots of short strikes, the fish were just not committing. It was most certainly post spawn conditions. I moved to a deeper spot which had next to no fishing pressure the entire spawn. I am certain that this fish had an uninterrupted spawn and was busy on her second spawn (which is unheard of on a dam with as much boat pressure as Albert falls). I have been fishing Albert Falls for more than 20 years and I have never seen a fish with such freakish genetics with a belly like this one. Unfortunately my scale malfunctioned from being in the sun so I was un able to weigh her. My live well had problems so I couldn't even put her in there. I was so worried about the fishes health and just wanted to put her back in the water. We have landed 3 fish over 5kgs on my boat in the past, one of them being just 2 weeks before, and this one was definitely bigger. We estimated her to be around 6KGS. Lessons learnt!
