From loading traffic gear into the Nissan Cabstar to shaping the ground with the CAT DN5 dozer, every step shows how a simple agricultural track transforms into a modern road. The process highlights traffic management, logistics, and groundwork preparation, giving a clear look at how construction unfolds in Farming Simulator 25. Today’s work focused on the start of a major contract: preparing and building a new asphalt road that will connect directly to the local wood mill. The day began with loading the Nissan Cabstar with traffic management equipment, including orange cones, signs, and basic tools. Once everything was secured, I headed out to the site where the old agricultural track is set to be transformed into a proper road. The first task was to secure both ends of the existing track, ensuring diversions were in place so vehicles could safely navigate around the construction zone. With the cones and signage set up, the site was ready for the next stage. After completing the initial traffic management, I returned to base to switch vehicles. The Scania truck was waiting, and with it I drove to the local dealer to collect the leased machinery needed for the project. The first piece of equipment was the CAT DN5 dozer, a powerful machine designed for heavy groundwork. Loading it onto the trailer required careful positioning, and once secured, I transported it back to the construction site. On arrival, I parked the truck in a small area between the old road and a nearby corn field, leaving enough space to unload the dozer safely. With the dozer on the ground, the real shaping work could begin. The task involved cutting into the uneven terrain, pushing soil aside, and leveling the surface to form the base of the new road. The dozer’s blade was lowered to gradually strip away the top layer, smoothing out bumps and filling shallow dips. This stage is critical, as the quality of the groundwork determines how well the asphalt will sit once laid. Moving back and forth across the site, the machine carved out a clear path, transforming the rough agricultural track into a foundation ready for further development. The edges were shaped to allow for proper drainage, and the central section was compacted to prepare for the next layers. By the end of the day, the groundwork was complete, and the site had taken on a new form. What was once a simple dirt track now looked like the beginnings of a proper road. With the surface prepared, the next steps will involve bringing in additional machinery to lay the asphalt and finalize the connection to the wood mill.
