Change Detection Analysis using a Simple Tool in ArcGIS Pro (Tutorial 10)

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to perform a change detection analysis between two years using ArcGIS Pro. Using Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) maps from 2005 and 2025 as an example, you’ll learn how to visualize changes on a map and generate data to understand how land use has transformed over a 20-year period. ArcGIS Pro offers simple and efficient tools that allow you to create change detection outputs in just a few clicks—saving you a lot of time compared to manual methods, especially when working with large datasets. Before getting started, make sure: • Both datasets use the same coordinate system • The spatial resolution and extent match • The classification schemes are consistent By the end of this tutorial, you will be able to: • Create a change detection map • Identify transitions between land use classes • Generate statistics summarizing the changes If you’d like to learn how to prepare Land Use/Land Cover maps, check out my other videos where I’ve shared step-by-step tutorials on the process. #chnagedetection #geospatialanalysis #remotesensing #landuselandcover #arcgispro
