Contact us: 📲: +974 5034 3737 E - [email protected] celebrating 90 years of the British 0:56 Council being in business and the 0:58 Ripples and the waves now they've 1:00 created all around the globe is just 1:02 incredible and today we have Brigadier 1:05 Brigadier thanks so much for coming on 1:06 to the podcast with us today please 1:08 introduce yourself thank you very much 1:10 for this invitation my name briger Hass 1:12 Abdullah I'm uh a commander of Language 1:16 Institute and the part of that I am a 1:18 head of Deputy head Authority for 1:20 Education I'm I'm really I literally am 1:23 we've been talking just before the 1:24 podcast and and both of our our um walks 1:27 of life have been in the same I was in 1:29 the um military at 16 so when I'm 1:31 talking to you now there's a there's a 1:33 glow around me just being able to speak 1:34 to you but you're doing some tremendous 1:36 things here in Qatar the communication 1:38 side how important is that to the Ws of 1:41 military yes we you know actually we 1:44 have um you know as you you're aware 1:46 about militaries they have a lot of task 1:48 and my our task for my my situations 1:52 it's to have a training and especially 1:56 what we do now in my our main task now 1:58 for that uh English language what we are 2:00 cooperate with the British Council and 2:03 this uh this what's uh you know we 2:06 started in uh Language Institute uh you 2:09 know our vision to be as I said to my 2:12 colleagues before we should be out of 2:15 the box we should we should you know 2:17 going around the world and thanks God 2:20 the teamw work what we work we we 2:22 discuss with them we establish you know 2:25 when we talk about let's say take about 2:28 at least five years ago we have 2:31 discussion about this one thanks God we 2:34 establish uh you know a center of 2:36 language English language in Qatar uh 2:39 Armed Forces how important is it for we 2:43 were talking about the languages and and 2:45 Qatar is a special place um the language 2:48 is Arabic but everybody seems to be 2:51 learning English also because of the way 2:53 that you are growing into the global 2:55 stage right how difficult is it to adopt 2:59 that within your forces oh um regarding 3:03 to the English language you you aw us 3:06 the English you know English language is 3:08 very important for us even because we 3:10 are you know to train our our our 3:14 officers ncos regarding to different 3:17 courses we are taking them in that path 3:20 and you're aware that English even is 3:23 very important around the world and that 3:25 because we are we are training our 3:27 officers and ncos you know out side 3:30 abroad and they should get the level 3:33 good level in English language that 3:35 because we need it for our our side yeah 3:38 and and how important has the British 3:41 Council been in this process oh they are 3:45 really really I'd like to thanks them 3:48 when we started as I said since 2 two 3:52 five years ago and uh you know we are we 3:55 are we commit that to join together
