Ricardo Kotscho, one of the country's most awarded journalists and an icon of the profession, says that political capital essentially consists of "caring about others." A press officer during Lula's first administration, he sees the president as the embodiment of several of Brazil's virtues, but points to a leadership crisis in various sectors within Brazil and around the world.
