Building analogue BEAM robots. A complete introduction

This is a video for people who are interested in BEAM or who are looking for a new avenue of electronics and robotics to explore. There is a lot in this video, so please ask any questions you might have. Resources for this project, Link to the schematics used for this bot https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tJ-t... Parts list - -Chips - 74HC240 see notes in the video for chip selection -Motors - N20 gear motors, use a voltage to match your batteries -Batteries - 2 to 4 AAAs work well, but anything 3-6V will work -Resistors - 100k to 1m work, I like the 1/4 watt ones as they look cool -Capacitors - you will need two sets, 2x 0.2uf and 2x 1.5 - 5uf. The reverse timing caps will need to be sized for your robot -Eyes - Most photodiodes will work; you can also use red LEDs or even small solar cells Other BEAM links - -Solarbotics, the original and still an amazing resource http://solarbotics.net/ -Simon Fraser’s page - some great-looking bots and info. https://smfr.org/ -BEAM builder - it seems to be still maintained? a collection of interesting pages https://beambuilder.blogspot.com/
