What 30 Days in Australia REALLY Cost Me in 2026

How much does it really cost to travel Australia in a 4x4 camper? After 30 days on the road, I tracked every dollar I spent while travelling through Queensland in my self-built Mitsubishi Pajero camper setup. In this video, I break down all my expenses, including diesel, groceries, restaurants, camping fees, mobile data, laundry, and all the other costs that come with life on the road. Over the last month, I travelled roughly 3,200 km and kept track of everything I spent. The biggest surprise? Fuel ended up being my biggest expense by far. I wasn't trying to survive on the absolute minimum budget. I cooked most of my meals, stayed mainly at free camps, occasionally treated myself to a restaurant meal, and travelled the way I wanted to travel. So this should give you a realistic idea of what a budget-friendly Australian road trip actually costs. If you're planning a road trip around Australia, travelling in a 4x4, or just curious about the real costs of life on the road, this video should help you set realistic expectations.
