Its capital city state Arochukwu was founded Around 1690 After Aro-Ibibio wars and the capture of Ibom kingdom’s capital Okon Ita, until its collapse in March 1902 after the Anglo-Aro war during the British empire expedition in southern Nigeria. At its zenith, the confederation was an economic, political, and oracular religious center as it was the home of the feared Ibini Ukpabi Oracle, High priests, Central Council known as Okpankpo and the revealed King Eze Aro. Their influence and presence were high and mighty all-over eastern Nigeria, lower middle belt, Southern Igala and parts of present-day Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea.
