Hello everyone, this is Taka-sim. This time, I'm sharing a city introduction/walking video of a stroll around the downtown area in front of JR Nishi-Akashi Station in Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture. From Nishi-Akashi Station on the JR Sanyo Main Line (Kobe Line) and Sanyo Shinkansen, I traveled along Prefectural Route 232, Prefectural Route 21, National Route 250/Akehime Main Line, Prico Nishi-Akashi, and Viera Town Nishi-Akashi. Nishi-Akashi Station is a strategic transportation hub, serving both the JR Kobe Line and the Sanyo Shinkansen. Special rapid service trains stop here, providing excellent access to Kobe and Osaka. The area around the station is a peaceful residential area, dotted with supermarkets and restaurants, making it a highly convenient location. In recent years, Akashi City and JR West have partnered on a large-scale redevelopment project known as the "Nishi-Akashi Urban Development Project." Construction is underway on a new station building, ticket gates, and station plaza, including the site of the former Rokko Butter Factory. Additionally, the large-scale condominium complex "J-Grand City Nishi-Akashi" is being built on the former JR company housing site, and the influx of new residents is expected to revitalize the area.
