But when he enters Remedios's room, he finds a detail impossible to ignore: a scapular hanging around her neck, but inside out, with the image pressed against her skin and sewn directly onto her clothing. No one in the family knew where he had come from. No one had ever seen him before. During the séance, the atmosphere shifts. Remedios stops responding as herself and begins reciting names, one after another, as if reading from an invisible list. They were people from the town. People who had died in recent years. And when the list ends, the last name she pronounces is that of Father Ernesto himself. What seemed like a religious visit ends up becoming an experience marked by strange signs, invisible presences, cursed objects, and a fear that haunted the priest until his final years.
