There are many advantages to using rechargeable battery powered strimmer's instead of petrol strimmer's. They have all the advantages of being portable and are even more portable being lighter weight and needing no flammable fuel. Electric motors have none of the hassle that comes with maintain and servicing a petrol engine. And there is no need to buy, transport and store fuels and oils etc. The only disadvantage rechargeable strimmer's have compared to petrol is limited run time. That can be overcome by buying more batteries. But at present each spare genuine Bosch high capacity battery cost more than an entry level petrol strimmer.
