No. 59 - Coutellerie Du Barry - Laguiole - Warzenschweinhauer
In this video, I'm taking a look at a Laguiole knife from Coutellerie Du Barry with warthog tusk handle scales. The knife is made in Laguiole and has a classic design. The handle scales are made of warthog tusk, a dense natural material with a characteristic texture and natural color variations. Layers of ebony provide a striking contrast to the lighter handle material. The construction is a double-liner, which makes the design more complex. The spine features an intricately crafted guilloché pattern. The typical Laguiole bee is forged and an integral part of the backspring. The blade is 95 mm long and is a classic yataghan style. The blade steel is 12C27 MOD. The surface has a matte finish. The workmanship is clean, with smooth transitions and precise fitting of the individual components. Technical specifications: Handle length: 120 mm Blade length: 95 mm Steel: 12C27 MOD Construction: Slipjoint Special features: Warthog tusks, ebony liners, double liners, guilloché engraving In the video, I show the knife as well as original warthog tusks and briefly discuss the material.
