In this video, I present the units of length in the metric system and explain how to convert between them by multiplying or dividing, depending on the direction of the conversion. I show how to recognize and write the basic units: millimeter, centimeter, decimeter, meter, and kilometer, and how to move between them by following each conversion step. I explain how to convert a larger unit to a smaller one by multiplying (for example, meters to millimeters) and a smaller unit to a larger one by dividing (for example, millimeters to meters).
