PEDULLA STUDIO | Building a Sculpted Wooden Cabinet
Want to know more about how I built this piece? Check out my Patreon Page - / pedullastudio This Sculpted Wooden Cabinet is made from Tasmanian Blackwood. The doors and drawer fronts are constructed using a process called stacked lamination. Book matched boards ensure grain and colour continuity. These boards are cut down into lengths of timber which are temporarily assembled and roughly carved using power tools, then each individual length is carved by hand to refine the flowing shapes as well as allowing any movement to come out of the material before gluing the pieces together. Gluing the pieces together first, then shaping could result in warping due to the amount of material removed. The doors and drawers to the Sculpted Wooden Cabinet are all push to open Blum Hardware to ensure natural lines without the use of exposed hardware.
