Installing and Operating a Traditional Line Shaft
This video chronicles the installation and startup of a traditional line shaft at the Tobacco Farm Life Museum in Kenly NC. The shaft dates to the early 1900s and is being used to power a Carroll Jamieson metal lathe that also dates to that period. An old Century electric motor that dates to the 1930's is used to power the line shaft.
