Rajartilla, on the way towards Harinagar bsf border outpost (bop) from Karigorah, where Barak river is at its widest point before splitting into Kushiyara and surma rivers, just 3 km away. This place has been notorious through the barak valley for its past severe erosion, where the barak river devoured large amounts of land. Coincidentally, this was the place where the Last Kachari King, Shri Govindachandra Narayana Hasnu, was assassinated by the British, with manipuri royal assistance in 1830, after which they annexed Cachar under their regime. P.s. couldn't post the harinagar (Haritikar) bsf bop and the visible Barak-Surma-Kushiyara split point due to their prohibition and current border tensions among India and Bangladesh. #cachar #katigorah #assam #barakvalley #barak
