Mekong River Full day tour LAOS | Hmong Village | Kuang Si Falls | Tham Ting Cave

Join me on this full day tour of attractions in and around Luang Prabang. This tour is for allages and most physical capabilities as there is no extreme climbing or long walks (although the Kuang Si falls invloves some walking up a steep hill). Part of the tour involves a cruise on a long boat down the Mekong River. Hot tea/coffee and bottles of water are available (included in the price) as well as some snacks. The first stop is a homemade rice wine/whiskey tasting and of course you can buy at your leisure. Some the whiskey has creatures fermenting inside the jars such as snakes,scorpions and geckos. Her you can walk around stalls wher homemade textiles and clothes can be purchased. Next stop are the Tham Ting caves where original culture meets buddhist culture. Hundreds of Buddha statues and shrines can be seen. A buffet style lunch is provided at a riverside restaurant, the food was excellent and presented very well. At this point the tour carries on in a mini-bus. The next stop is a hmong village where you there are demonstrations of traditional Hmong dancing, tectile manufacturing and flour production. The tour ends with a visit to the Kuang Si waterfalls. Here you will also see moon and sun bears who were rescued from illegal wildlife trade. The waterfalls are magical and a must see, you can swim here and there was even a guy singing and entertaining the visitors. The tour cost $ US 45 which included pick up and drop off at your hotel all drinks and snacks whilst on the boat and the buffet style lunch.
