CASTELUL PELEȘ - Ușile Secrete ale Castelului
Peleș Castle is not just a royal residence, but a spectacular synthesis of history, art, technology and royal destiny. This documentary offers a wide and detailed exploration of one of the most impressive buildings in Europe from the end of the 19th century, the place where King Carol I's vision took shape in the heart of the Carpathians. The story begins with the arrival of Prince Carol in Romania and the discovery of the Sinai area, then known as Podul Neagului. Enchanted by the mountain landscapes and the tranquility of the place, the King decides not only to build a castle, but also to transform the entire settlement into a royal resort, bearing the name inspired by Mount Sinai. The documentary follows step by step the complex process of building Peleș Castle, from the laying of the foundation stone in 1875 to the extensions and finishing touches carried out under the coordination of the architect of the Royal House, Karel Zdeněk Líman. The varied architectural influences, the contributions of several European architects and the way in which each room was conceived as a unique work of art are presented. The visit continues inside the castle, where we discover the Hall of Honor – a space for major royal events, a place for ceremonies, receptions and significant historical moments. The wooden decorations made in German workshops, the monumental stained glass windows, the valuable tapestries and the ingenious electrically operated glass roof, a symbol of absolute modernity for its era, are described in detail. An important chapter is dedicated to King Carol I’s passion for military art and his weapons collections, one of the most valuable in Europe. Medieval armor, parade swords, unique pieces such as full armor for horse and knight or weapons received as official gifts outline the personality of a disciplined, lucid monarch deeply attached to the values of honor and duty. The documentary also brings to the fore the deeply human side of the royal family: the drama of the loss of the only child of the King and Queen Elisabeth, her dedication to education, culture and art, as well as the active role played by the Romanian queens as sisters of charity in the great conflicts of the era. The King's office, the library - one of the favorite rooms of Queen Elisabeth, known under the literary pseudonym Carmen Sylva - the music rooms, the dance halls, the Florentine hall, the hall of mirrors, the royal dining room and the famous Moorish hall, inspired by the Alhambra in Spain, where the body of King Carol I was laid to rest at the funeral in 1914 are explored. The documentary ends with fascinating details about the castle's revolutionary technologies: electric elevators, its own central heating, heating and vacuum systems, all still functional today, confirming Peleș Castle's status as one of the most modern residences of the time. This material is not just a guided tour, but a living history lesson, an incursion into the mentality, values and refinement of royal Romania. #PelesCastle #Peles #RoyalRomania #KingCarolI #QueenElisabeth #RomanianHistory #Heritage #Castle #HistoricalDocumentary #Sinaia #RoyalHouse #Architecture #Monarchy #Culture #Museum 📌 𝐍𝐮 𝐮𝐢𝐢𝐚𝐢: 👍 Like if you liked it, 💬 Write to us in the comments what impressed you the most, 🔔 Subscribe for more stories from the history of Romania!
