CLOSE UP ANTONOV AN-124 IN CALGARY! Airside Landing, Offload, and Takeoff!

Earlier this week, this enormous Antonov 124 paid a visit to Calgary! It brought in some specialized mining equipment destined for Northern B.C., which was slightly too wide to fit in a 747, and so the Antonov 124 was the best plane for the job. Originally, it was supposed to fly into Vancouver, but due to a lack of parking space, and ongoing ATC staffing issues, it came to Calgary instead, and YYC was more than happy to have it. It arrived from Istanbul via Iceland and stayed on Apron 9 for a day before eventually departing empty back to Europe. I owe an enormous thank you to YYC for inviting me airside to capture both the arrival and the departure, and to the crew for letting us take a look inside the plane, too!
