"After both a riveting and record-breaking Sky Bet League One title-winning 2013/14 season, the following campaign was all about how Kenny Jackett's revamped Wolves squad would respond to life back in the fiercely competitive Championship. And, as ever in English football's second tier, it was never dull! The big question was whether a squad mixed with the promise of youth and several voices of experience would be able to perform consistently enough over 46 games to break into the top six and move within sight of the Barclays Premier League. Ultimately, it wasn't to be, but it went right to the wire, and there were so many signs of potential and promise during Jackett's second season at the helm. From the breakthrough of more young players such as Dominic Iorfa, the continuing re-emergence of defensive rock Richard Stearman the flair of Messrs Sako and Dicko, the goalscoring arrival of Benik Afobe, there was much to savour from another exciting Wolves season. Not to mention another clutch of memorable matches, including a dramatic seven-goal thriller with Leeds and an emotion-packed late win over Blackpool, in which Molineux rose as one to salute the departed and much-love Sir Jack Hayward.
