Mozambique Elections I Tensions rise as Mondlane supporters clash with police in Maputo
Tensions continue to rise in Mozambique after supporters of the main opposition candidate, Venancio Mondlane, took to the streets and clashed with police in Maputo yesterday. This after the killing of Mondlane's lawyer Elvino Dias and party official Paulo Guambe at the weekend. Mondlane has rejected the provisional election results, showing the country's ruling party Frelimo leading in the country's October 9 national elections. The final elections results are expected later this week. To talk more about the developments in Mozambique, we are joined virtually by Advocate Sipho Mantula, Researcher at the University of South Africa's Thabo Mbeki African School of Public and International Affairs.
