La Strada delle 52 Gallerie fino al Rifugio Papa, poi giù per la Strada degli Scarubbi (Video-Guida)

▽▽ Expand description ▽▽ The Road of the 52 Tunnels was built between February and December 1917 to serve the Pasubio front. It took approximately 600 soldiers 11 months to build this mule track to reach the front unseen by the enemy. This trail, called the "Road of the 52 Tunnels," is 6,300 meters long, 2,300 of which are tunnels; the remainder are dug into the rock halfway up the mountainside. The route begins in Bocchetta di Campiglia at an altitude of 1,216 meters and ends at 1,928 meters, reaching an altitude of approximately 2,000 meters after tunnel no. 48. The longest tunnel is the nineteenth, which, like the twentieth, twists and turns several times, forming an ascending spiral in the rock. At the start of the trail, there's a large paid parking lot (€6 per day) and a café, although I don't know when it's open. The trail ends at the Rifugio Papa, where you can decide to return via the Strada degli Scarubbi to complete a loop. The entire loop is about 15-16 km long. Did you like this video?
